Sorcha grew up in a family that was extremely proud of their bloodline. Descendants of the Morrigan, most members of the family followed a warrior’s path. As a child, Sorcha told stories about warriors who she had never had an opportunity to meet before they died. Eventually she was discovered by Fearghus, a magus of House Miscellanea, who realized she had been getting the stories directly from the warriors’ ghosts. He took Sorcha under his wing and made her his apprentice.
Two ghosts in particular were interested in Sorcha. One was an ancestor named Breandán who took a liking to her her. He followed her around and did his best to keep her out of trouble. When Sorcha started learning weapon skills as an apprentice she focused on the long sword because it had been his favored weapon.
The other was the ghost of a young man named Keir who had fled from battle when his village was attacked. He was cut down from behind, but not until after he heard his adolescent sister Caoimhe screaming as she was dragged away. He cannot move on to the afterlife without knowing what happened to her. Once he discovered Sorcha could sense him, he started pestering her to find and rescue his sister. So far Sorcha has refused to help him because as a coward he is unworthy of her aid.
Having been raised respecting warriors, Sorcha has dedicated herself to supporting those who are living and putting to rest those who are trapped between life and the afterlife. She normally dresses in clothes that resemble armor and she carries her long sword at almost all times.
